Jilin University’s Agricultural Sciences discipline has entered top 1‰globally in the Essential Science Indicators (ESI), ranking 139th worldwide according to the latest statistics update released by Clarivate Analytics on May 14. To date, Jilin University now boasts six disciplines ranked in top 1‰globally in ESI: Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, Pharmacology & Toxicology, Clinical Medicine and Agricultural Sciences. Among them, Chemistry has entered into the top 1‱ globally.

This milestone marks a notable achievement in Jilin University’s development under China’s Double First-Class Initiative. It also reflects the university’s long-standing commitment to fundamental research and the integration of basic and applied research. The accomplishment highlights Jilin university’s contributions to national food security and rural revitalization. It further strengthens the university’s disciplinary foundation and supports the continued advancement of its Double First-Class development.
