JLU has a total of more than 100 research institutes
and key laboratories, including 5 national key laboratories,
and 2 national test and measurement centers. The
MacDiarmid Laboratory is named after the Nobel Laureate,
Prof. MacDiarmid who serves as chair of the Academic
Council of the Laboratory.
Funding received in 2002 for Natural Science
and Technology is 250 million Yuan, a 25% increase
as compared with the 200 million in 2001. For
social sciences, total funding from 2000 to 2003
amounts to 27 million Yuan.
The University has won many awards, for example,
1 Second Prize of National Natural Science, 2
Second Prizes of National Science and Technology
Progress. In 2002, 44 ministerial and provincial
prizes were awarded to the University, for research
in Natural Science and Technology. More than 100
ministerial and provincial prizes have been won
in Social Science Research Work.
As of 2002, 469 papers were indexed in SCI, 222
in EI, and 80 in ISTP; total number amounts to
771, a16.5% increase as compared with that of
2001.
