"Journal of Jilin University" is a comprehensive academic journal in the field of science and technology sponsored by Jilin University and administrated by the Educational Ministry of People′s Republic of China. The journal in published is the following five editions:

　　 5). Journal of Jilin University (Information Science Edition; the original Journal name: Journal of Changchun Post and Telecommunication Institute.
　　 The four Editions of Science, Engineering and technology, Medicine and Earth Science of the Journal are all the core science and technology journals in Chinese in China. The impact factors and total cites of them are all in the front ranks among the science and technology journals in China and the articles published in these journals are all covered by the well known scientific and technological literature databases and abstract journals in China as well as in the world. Information Science Edition is one of the core journals in the fields of electronics, communication and automatic controls. The present Jilin University is a new one which comes from the amalgamation of the original Jilin University, Jilin University of Technology, Bethume Medical University, Changchun University of Science and Technology and Changchun post and Telecommunication Institute on June 12,2000.New Jilin University has become a center of teaching and research and an institution of higher education including multidisciphines such as natural science, engineering and technology, life science, medicine science, earth science, information science, humanity, social science, management science and so on. The university has attracted a large group of distinguished scholars famous both at home and abroad for their eruditness and rigorous and scientific approaches to knowledge, All these mentioned above have become a strong dependence and laid a solid foundation for running Journal of Jilin University well. All the editors and staffs of the Editorial Department will continue to work conscientiously and cautiously and serve the readers and authors wholeheartedly as always and are determined to make greater contributions to building a first class university and running a first rate journal.
