Foreign experts from Jilin University (JLU) attended a reception held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Sept 27, 2024 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.  

Prof. Hartmut Michel, Laureate of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 1988 and an honorary professor at Jilin University (JLU), and Professor Chris D. Rudd, Vice President of the International Society of Bionic Engineering, participated in the event.  

Michel also attended a symposium for foreign experts in Beijing on Sept 26, 2024. He emphasized that in the face of global challenges such as climate change and energy issues, scientists from universities, enterprises, and research institutions worldwide should strengthen international exchange and collaboration to jointly promote greener, healthier, and more sustainable global development.
