A delegation from Jilin University (JLU), led by WANG Lifeng, Vice President of JLU, visited Central and Eastern Europe from Oct 28 to Nov 3, 2023.

The delegation visited the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest, Transilvania University of Brașov, the Chinese Embassy in Romania, as well as the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the National Technical University of Athens in Greece.

The delegation participated in the 8th Meeting of the China-Central and Eastern European Countries Higher Education Institutions Consortium, the 2nd China-Romania University Presidents Forum in Romania, and the 2nd China-Greece Higher Education Rector Forum in Greece.

These meetings brought together over 100 representatives from 32 Chinese universities and 34 Central and Eastern European universities.

During the meetings in Romania, Wang and Dan Selisteanu, vice-rector of the University of Craiova, signed an international research cooperation agreement between JLU and the University of Craiova. The two sides also explored opportunities for practical collaboration in science and engineering.

At the China-Greece Higher Education Rector Forum, WANG expressed his hope for cooperation between JLU and Greek universities in joint student training, faculty exchanges, and scientific research.
