Prof. WU Wenzheng, Dean of the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Jilin University (JLU), led the university delegation to attend the 22nd IEEE International Conference on Mechatronics and Automation (ICMA) in Beijing from Aug 3 to 6.

The IEEE ICMA is held annually, and the 2026 session will be hosted by JLU. The Organizing Committee of the Conference convened a meeting of the board of directors. WU presented a report on behalf of JLU regarding preparations for the 2026 conference.

The board of directors acknowledged JLU’s work, confirmed the theme for next year’s conference, and set specific objectives and requirements. The conference invited five speakers and set six parallel sessions. A total of 369 papers were received from 28 countries and regions, attracting over 300 experts and scholars from around the world.

Eight faculty members and students from the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at JLU attended the conference, including Professors YU Huadong, ZHU Hang, FENG Mei, and Associate Professor YANG Tianye.

At the closing ceremony, Prof. WU Wenzheng, representing JLU, accepted the IEEE ICMA flag. Upholding the tradition of academic rigor, JLU will spare no effort to organize the IEEE ICMA 2026, providing a broader platform for academic exchange among global experts and scholars in the fields of mechatronics and automation.
