Droplet, the journal hosted by Jilin University (JLU), has obtained its first journal impact factor of 9.1 in the latest edition of the Journal Citation Reports (JCR 2024) released by global provider of transformative intelligence Clarivate on June 18.
It ranks 23rd out of 187 journals in the “Physics, Applied” category, placing it in the Q1 category quartile – the top 25 percent of journals in this field.
It’s the first international academic journal dedicated to research on droplets and bubbles and is supervised by the Ministry of Education and sponsored by Jilin University. Launched in 2022, the journal was indexed by the Directory of Open Access Journals in May 2023, EI Compendex in August 2023, and Scopus in October 2023.
It was also selected for the High-Starting New Journal Initiative under the China Action Plan for Excellence in Scientific Journals. In April 2024, Droplet passed the comprehensive evaluation by Clarivate Analytics and was officially included in the Emerging Sources Citation Index.
