JLU’s professor team breaks through in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis

2025-07-20

The team led by Professor LI Quanshun and Associate Professor HAN Haobo, from the Key Laboratory of Molecular Enzymology and Engineering, MOE, at Jilin University (JLU), has made significant progress in their previous research on the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

The related findings, entitled Near-infrared light-driven metabolic reprogramming of synoviocytes for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, were published in Nature Communications on July 17.

It contributes to a deeper understanding of the mechanism of occurrence and development of rheumatoid arthritis, provides a good platform for constructing efficient, precise, and controllable gene therapy strategies based on synthetic biotechnology and nanotechnology, and offers new ideas for precision treatment of other metabolic related diseases.

With the College of Life Sciences as its primary affiliation, doctoral student ZHANG Hugang is the first author of the paper. Professor LI Quanshun and Associate Professor HAN Haobo are the corresponding authors.
