The 5th Central Asian Orthopaedic Academic Forum was held on Oct 19, 2024 at the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University, with Prof. ZHAO Guoqing, Vice President of Jilin University (JLU), in attendance.

Haji Akber Aisa, President of Xinjiang Medical University, met with ZHAO and his delegation to discuss enhancing collaboration in talent development, scientific research, and medical services. The two sides engaged in in-depth exchanges to strengthen cooperation between their institutions.  

ZHAO expressed JLU’s commitment to increasing efforts in its targeted support initiatives for Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. He emphasized that JLU will continue to plan and implement these efforts to foster high-quality development in higher education, deepening exchanges and achieving mutual benefits.  

The forum featured sub-forums on topics such as limb and pelvic surgery, spinal surgery, and orthopedic rehabilitation. Leading experts and scholars in orthopedics, rehabilitation, and nursing from both China and neighboring countries were invited to discuss emerging technologies and the application of the latest research findings in the field.
