The 12th CALYPSO workshop was held from Oct 18 to 20, 2024 in Yantai, a port city in East China’s Shandong Province.
The three-day event was organized by the School of Physics and Electronic Information at Yantai University and hosted by the State Key Laboratory of Superhard Materials, the Key Laboratory of Material Simulation Method & Software, MOE, and the College of Physics at Jilin University (JLU). Over 200 experts and scholars from across the country attended.

At the opening ceremony, Professor MA Yanming, JLU Vice President and founder of the CALYPSO algorithm, delivered speeches.

MA reviewed the history of the CALYPSO workshop and expressed hopes that the event would provide a high-quality academic exchange platform for computational science scholars.
The CALYPSO team awarded prizes to users who had published their 100th academic paper using CALYPSO, recognizing their contributions to promoting this method. The CALYPSO-Elsevier Rising Star Award was also presented to young scholars who had published high-quality papers in Elsevier journals using CALYPSO.
