The opening ceremony of Seminar for Machinery Industry Management Officials under the Global Development Initiative was held on Oct 22, 2024 at Jilin University (JLU) as part of the Ministry of Commerce’s foreign aid training program.

Prof. ZHANG Ran, Vice President of JLU, and Dr. NIU Yanbin, Deputy Director of the Jilin Provincial Department of Commerce, delivered speeches at the ceremony. Professor GUO Li, from the College of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at JLU, also spoke on behalf of the teaching staff members.

ZHANG welcomed 25 officials from seven countries in the machinery industry management sector and introduced them to the university. She hoped the seminar would contribute to developing the participating countries’ machinery industries while fostering long-term communication and cooperation.

GUO highlighted that JLU’s expertise in agricultural machinery automation and bionic science and engineering align closely with the seminar’s focus. She was optimistic that the exchange would help advance the global development of the machinery industry.

Since 2002, JLU has launched 72 foreign aid training programs, accumulating valuable experience and significantly contributing to global development.
