The opening ceremony and main forum of the 2024 International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application were held at Jilin University on Sept 20, 2024.
The conference was overseen by the Ministry of Education and the People’s Government of Jilin Province and organized by the Jilin Provincial Department of Education and 13 universities in the province, including Jilin University (JLU).
The conference, adopting the theme “collaborative innovations, win-win cooperation”, was attended by more than 300 academicians, experts, and scholars from universities, enterprises, and research institutes from 15 countries.
Officials from the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Ministry of Education, the Jilin Provincial Government, and leaders of universities within the province also attended.
At the main forum, Professor GUO Zhengxiao, Academician of the Academy of Europe, Professor Fausto Giunchiglia from the University of Trento in Italy, and SONG Dewu, President of Jilin Chemical Fiber Group Co, shared their in-depth understanding and practical experience from a global perspective, providing new ideas for promoting international cooperation, collaborative innovation and win-win cooperation on the integration of industry, education, research and application.
JLU President ZHANG Xi conferred Sergey V. Gaponenko, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and Professor GUO Zhengxiao with letters of appointment. The China-Belarus Laboratory of Plasma Technology and Green Energy, jointly established by JLU and B.I. Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, was unveiled at the conference.
In 2024, JLU will continue carrying out academic exchanges and cooperation matchmaking, and its 14 teaching and research departments will hold 21 sub-forums based on the conference.
It will also further focus on the collaborative innovation between domestic and foreign schools and enterprises and enhance its international influence, empower the comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China, and serve the high-quality development of Jilin Province.
