XU Ruren, Professor of the College of Chemistry at Jilin University (JLU) and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was awarded the fourth Chinese Chemical Society (CCS) Lifetime Achievement Award at the 34th CCS Congress which was held in Guangzhou, capital of South China’s Guangdong province, from June 15 to 17, 2024.

The CCS Evaluation and Award Committees made the decision to honor XU after careful deliberation. FAN Qinghua, Vice President of the CCS, formally announced the award at the opening ceremony of the congress.

At the award ceremony, XU entrusted his student YU Jihong, President of Beijing Normal University and Director of the International Center of Future Science at JLU, to accept the award on his behalf.
