Professor Bruce E. Rittmann, a renowned environmental biotechnology expert and Academician of the National Academy of Engineering in the United States, was appointed as an Honorary Professor at Jilin University (JLU) on March 30, 2024.

At the invitation of JLU, Rittmann attended the Dingxin Lecture hosted by the JLU Association for Science and Technology, College of New Energy and Environment, Key Laboratory of Groundwater Resources and Environment, MOE, as well as National and Local Joint Engineering Laboratory for Petrochemical Contaminated Site Control and Remediation Technology at JLU on the day.

In his lecture, Rittmann addressed critical issues related to the environment, including sewage treatment, the degradation of emerging pollutants, and the utilization of carbon dioxide. Drawing on his extensive research experience, he shared valuable insights and personal perspectives on these pressing challenges.
