2024-01-03

The International Association for Aesthetics (IAA)’s Newsletter recently featured an extensive report on the First Forum on Cognitive Neuroaesthetics and Aesthetic Education, co-organized by the College of Humanities, the College of Journalism and Communication and the Office of Humanities and Social Sciences Research at Jilin University (JLU).

The English manuscript for the report was provided by the Research Centre of Cognitive Aesthetics and Aesthetic Education at JLU.

The five-page the report offers a comprehensive overview of the forum, its significance, and its background.

This coverage provides the international aesthetics community with valuable insight into the latest developments in cognitive neuroaesthetics and aesthetic education research in China. Additionally, it also highlights the dedication and achievements of Chinese neuroaesthetic researchers, fostering international collaboration and exchange.

As a leading global institution in aesthetics research, the IAA is primarily responsible for organizing the International Congress of Aesthetics. The first congress, held in 1918 in Berlin, was initiated by German aesthetician and art historian Max Dessoir. The 18th congress was hosted in Beijing in 2010, with Professor GAO Jianping, President of the Chinese Society for Aesthetics, serving as IAA president from 2013 to 2016.

The IAA’s Newsletter is a prominent publication regularly delivering updates on global aesthetics research to IAA’s members and those interested in the field.
