Prof. ZHANG Xi, President of Jilin University (JLU) met with Jean-Baptiste AVRILLIER, President of Centrale Nantes, and his delegation on Nov 9, 2023.

ZHANG outlined JLU's development and key disciplines, noting that Centrale Nantes' elite engineer training model had provided valuable insights for JLU's Engineering Cluster Initiative. He expressed hope of further expanding cooperation in new areas and fostering mutual growth.

Jean-Baptiste AVRILLIER introduced the educational system of Centrale Nantes, highlighting the success of the double-degree programs between the two universities. He expressed desire to deepen collaboration with JLU in talent cultivation and joint research.

During the visit, the two universities held a working meeting chaired by Dr. LI Meihua, Director of Office of Global Engagement. Representatives from the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, College of Automotive Engineering, College of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, and other departments and offices participated in the meeting.

Founded in 1919, Centrale Nantes is the largest comprehensive engineering school in western France and one of the top engineering schools in the country.
