Jilin University (JLU) hosted a working meeting with Rutgers University, the State University of New Jersey in the United States, on Nov 1, 2023.

ZHAO Guoqing, Vice President of JLU, and Eric Garfunkel, Vice President for Global Affairs at Rutgers University, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. The meeting was chaired by LI Meihua, Director of Office of Global Engagement at JLU.

ZHAO welcomed the Rutgers delegation on behalf of JLU and reviewed the fruitful cooperation achievements that have been made since the two universities established their partnership in 1979.

Garfunkel expressed his gratitude for JLU's warm hospitality and introduced the disciplinary strengths and international collaboration results of Rutgers University.

Both parties expressed hope of deepening cooperation and exploring new areas of collaboration in the future.

During the discussion, representatives from both sides engaged in thorough discussions on topics such as faculty research collaboration, joint student training, research forums, and both short- and long-term exchange programs.

During the delegation's visit, Academician FENG Shouhua, Director of the Academic Committee at JLU, held discussions with Garfunkel and his delegation.
