He aimed to expand joint graduate training, share international cooperation resources, and engage more outstanding young scholars from the Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Biophysical Chemistry in collaborative research and talent development.
Hartmut Michel is a professor at the MPI for Biophysical Chemistry and a member of the European Academy of Sciences. His research focuses on the structure and function of membrane proteins in living organisms. He has developed methods for crystallizing these proteins, which are applicable in various medical fields.
