Professor WANG Ning's team from the College of Physics at Jilin University (JLU) had their research paper on lead-free perovskites published in the academic journal Nature on Aug 9, 2023.
Titled Tautomeric Mixture Coordination Enables Efficient Lead-Free Perovskite LEDs, the paper presents groundbreaking advancements in the regulation of lead-free perovskites.
The study introduces a novel strategy that utilizes tautomeric mixture coordination to induce electron localization in lead-free tin perovskite. This strategy forms stable hydrogen-bonded superstructures on the perovskite surface, significantly enhancing the ordering in the crystal's structure and its optoelectronic performance.
The research demonstrates that this approach effectively reduces the non-radiative recombination coefficient in lead-free tin perovskites and doubles the exciton binding energy. This method has also been applied to other lead-free tin perovskite systems, promoting improvements in their optoelectronic properties.
These findings provide new insights into developing efficient, stable, lead-free perovskite optoelectronic devices, advancing research and applications in this field.
The first authors of the paper are HAN Dongyuan and WANG Jie, JLU’s doctoral students majoring in condensed matter physics. Professor WANG is the corresponding author.
