ZHAO Hongwei, Vice President of Jilin University (JLU), met with Gérald Béroud, first vice-president of the Swiss-Chinese Association, on April 19, 2023 at JLU. 

ZHAO welcomed Béroud and provided an overview of JLU, highlighting its academic strengths and achievements in international collaboration.

He emphasized that JLU has established a solid foundation for cooperation with Swiss universities and research institutions and expressed confidence that this visit would further enhance collaboration in areas such as scientific research, talent exchange, and international Chinese education. 

Béroud expressed his gratitude for JLU's warm reception. He remarked on the significant changes in urban development, economic growth, and higher education in Jilin province since his last visit 11 years ago. He also introduced the landscape of higher education in Switzerland and the role of the Swiss-Chinese Association, pledging to support further cooperation between JLU and Swiss universities. 

After the meeting, Béroud and his delegation toured the Jilin University Archaeology and Art Museum.
