On July 10, Tian Hui, Secretary of the CPC Jilin University Committee, met with a delegation led by Kwon Yung Ho, President of IB Group in the Repubic of Korea (ROK) Chairman of Dongrong College of Jilin University and Chairman of Changchun Jida Dongrong Green Food Co., Ltd. The two sides discussed opportunities to expand practical cooperation and strenghtening collaboration between university and industry.
On behalf of Jilin University and President Zhang Xi, Tian Hui warmly welcomed President Kwon Yung Ho and thanked him for his long-standing support of the university’s development. Tian Hui also gave a brief overview of Jilin University’s recent progress. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the university has continued to improve the quality of education and talent development, strengthen its research and innovation capabilities, better serve national strategic priorities, and make further progress toward its goal of becoming a world-class university.
Tian Hui noted that, as an outstanding alumnus, President Kwon Yung Ho has provided significant support to Jilin University through donations for the construction of the Dongrong Building, the establishment of Dongrong College, and the creation of scholarships. He expressed hopes that built on long-term exchanges and mutual trust, both sides expand areas of cooperation, improve the effectiveness of their partnership, and develop a model for deeper strategic university-enterprise collaboration.
Kwon Yung Ho reflected warmly on his 31 years of cooperation with Jilin University. He stated that his original motivation for donating to support education is to help develop talented students and contribute to the local community. He pledged to further deepen university-enterprise cooperation, provide sustained financial support for students in need, improve the university’s student assistance system, and contribute to the development of Jilin University.
Zhang Guoxing and Zhang Ran, Vice Presidents of the university; Zhang Xiangdong, former Vice President, as well as representatives of relevant departments at Jilin University attended the meeting.
