Recently, the official website of the Nature Index released its latest global institutional rankings for the statistical period spanning March 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026. In the previous ranking, Jilin University’s chemistry discipline ranked 8th globally. Following this update, the discipline has surged to 5th place worldwide—a significant leap that once again sets a new historical best for Jilin University.

Launched by the Nature Publishing Group in 2014, the Nature Index serves as a key metric for measuring top-tier global academic output. It assesses institutions based on their publications in 145 internationally prestigious journals, using two core dimensions—article count and contribution share—for comprehensive evaluation, and carries extensive international influence.

This significant rise in ranking fully highlights the growing research and innovation capacity of Jilin University’s chemistry discipline, particulary in frontier basic research, as well as its increasing international academic competitiveness. The achievement provides a strong foundation for the continued advancement of the university’s “Double First-Class” initiative.
