On September 13th, Jilin University hosted the China-Brazil University Student Football Exchange. This event brought together representatives from both countries.
From Brazil, Luciano Athayde Costa Cabral, First Vice-President of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and the Brazilian University Sports Confederation, and Flávio Mendonça, President of the Sergipe State Student Federation of Brazil.

Chinese delegates included Chen Dongsheng, Secretary-General of the Secretariat of the Chinese University Sports Association (CUSSA); Liu Jin, Vice-President of FISU; Teng Lianshuai, Deputy Secretary-General of CUSSA and Vice-President of the Chinese University Football Association; Ding Shihai, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jilin University Committee.
University student athletes, sports officials, and representatives of teachers and students from China and Brazil were in attendance as well. The event was hosted by Qiu Peng, Dean of the Physical Education College of Jilin University, Ding Shihai keynote address extended a warm welcome to the Brazilian teachers and students. He began that Jilin University has always held the importance of the growth and development of sports culture.

This exchange between the two schools injected new life and interest in the development of professional-level sports at our university.
In his speech, Luciano expressed his gratitude for the warm reception from the university. He affectionately reviewed the long-term and solid cooperation between China and Brazil in university sports since 2007, specifically mentioning the grand occasion of the Chinese delegation's visit to Brazil last year and the recently signed cooperation memorandum, which has become an international model.

During the exchange, exhibition matches were held for both the men’s and women’s football teams. After, players from both sides greeted each other, exchanged gifts, and took group photos, presenting the cooperation both countries developed on an athletics level. This China-Brazil University Student Football Exchange is not only a sports event but also a cultural exchange, a dialogue between youth, and a deepening of friendship. It fully demonstrates the unique value of sports in building a platform for cultural exchanges and a continued inspiration of cooperation between both China and Brazil.
