G-Speed Formula Racing Team of Jilin University Makes Historic Breakthrough in Formula SAE Japan 2025

The 23rd Japanese Student Formula SAE Competition concluded on September 13th. Jilin University's G-Speed Formula Racing Team, with both its combustion and electric entries, competed against 83 teams from Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Bangladesh, mainland China, and Taiwan.

After eight intense days of competition, the G-Speed Electric Team delivered an exceptional performance. They claimed 1st place in both Engineering Design and Skid Pad, secured 2nd in Acceleration, 3rd in Autocross and Endurance, and set the Fastest Lap in the Endurance event. Together, these achievements earned the team an impressive 3rd place overall in the electric category.

In the combustion category, the G-Speed Combustion Team also excelled, winning 1st place in Engineering Design and 2nd in Skid Pad, which earned them the prestigious Shizuoka Institute of Technology Special Award.

Across both divisions, Jilin University's teams demonstrated outstanding technical prowess, collectively winning nine specialized awards, including Best Technical Drawing, Best Aerodynamics Design, Best Ergonomics Design, Best Use of Composite Materials, Best CAE Analysis, and Best MathWorks Software Application, among others.

Founded in 2001, the Japanese Student Formula SAE competition is a cornerstone of the global Formula SAE series and is recognized as Asia's oldest, most competitive, and internationally influential student formula racing event.
