Vice President ZHANG Ran of Jilin University (JLU) met with Joachim Escher, Vice President and Professor of Mathematics at Leibniz University Hannover (LUH), on July 22.

ZHANG extended a warm welcome to Escher and introduced JLU’s distinctive educational features, disciplinary strengths and current development situation.

She affirmed the productive outcomes of the bilateral cooperation in the field of mathematics and expressed her expectation to further deepen inter-university exchanges, specially building long-term collaboration in faculty exchange, talent cultivation and research collaboration.

Escher noted that, as a scholar long dedicated to international cooperation in mathematics, he has been engaging in productive academic exchanges and collaboration with JLU’s mathematics discipline in recent years. Building on the existing partnership, he expressed a desire to promote comprehensive and multi-disciplinary practical cooperation between the two institutions.
