Dr. LI Meihua, Director of Office of Global Engagement at Jilin University (JLU), attended the 7th Plenary Meeting of the Eurasia-Pacific Uninet (EPU) in Austria from Sept 25 to 29, 2024.

The opening ceremony featured speeches by Professor Wolf-Dieter Rausch, President of the EPU, and Heinz Fischer, Former President of Austria.

Over 100 representatives from 60 universities and research institutions in China, Austria, Mongolia, Nepal, Bhutan, Kirghizstan and other countries attended the event. Participants shared reports on international cooperation in higher education and exchanges with the EPU.

The EPU is an academic exchange organization established with the support of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research and initiated by the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg. It fosters academic collaboration between universities in the Eurasian and Pacific regions.

Since joining EPU in 2002, JLU has sent 35 faculty members to Austrian universities for scientific research, and its 13 faculty members have participated in multilateral academic conferences organized by the EPU. More than 200 students from JLU have participated in EPU summer study programs, deepening their understanding of European culture, history, and economics.
