Professor ZHANG Lijun’s team from the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Jilin University (JLU) published a review article on May 23, 2024 in online-only journal Nature Computational Science.

The paper is titled Designing semiconductor materials and devices in the post-Moore era by tackling computational challenges with data-driven strategies, with JLU doctoral students XIE Jiahao as the first author and ZHOU Yansong as the co-first author. The corresponding authors are WANG Xinjiang, a JLU postdoctoral researcher involved in the Dingxin Scholar Program, and Professor ZHANG Lijun.

The paper systematically discusses the critical applications and future prospects of data-driven strategies in exploring materials design space, developing semiconductor materials, and improving the performance, design and manufacturing of electronic devices. In the conclusion, the paper discusses the challenges and opportunities in these areas.
