A delegation of Thai educators participating in the “Chinese Bridge” workshop project visited Jilin University (JLU) in Northeast China’s Jilin Province on April 23, 2024, with Prof. ZHAO Hongwei, Vice President of JLU, attending the symposium.

The workshop project, co-organized by the Northeast Center for Chinese International Education and the College of Humanities at JLU, aimed to support the development of high-quality international Chinese language education in Thailand and to advance the “China-Thailand University Language Partnership Program”.

ZHAO provided an overview of JLU’s achievements in academic development and talent cultivation, highlighting JLU’s collaboration with Thai universities in cultural exchange and Chinese language education.

He expressed hope for further cooperation in establishing Chinese language programs, training local Chinese teachers, and expanding academic collaboration, leveraging each other’s strengths for mutual growth.

On behalf of the Thai delegation, Hiran Prasarnkarn, President of Phuket Rajabhat University, thanked JLU for its warm hospitality and introduced Phuket Rajabhat University’s history, educational philosophy, and key academic strengths.

He emphasized the university’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with Chinese universities and expressed a desire to create more opportunities for Thai students to study, exchange, and pursue advanced studies in China.

At the symposium, both sides reached a consensus on strengthening cooperation in Chinese language education.
