The School of Business and Management at Jilin University (JLU) and the University of Tsukuba in Japan co-hosted iConference2024 in Changchun, Capital of Northeast China’s Jilin Province, from April 22 to 26, 2024.

The iSchools is an international organization composed of over 120 information schools worldwide, dedicated to interdisciplinary research in areas such as data science, human-computer interaction, and information management. The iConference is its annual flagship event, providing an international platform for researchers in the field of information science.

With the tagline “Wisdom, Well-being, Win-win,” the iConference2024 aimed to explore emerging topics in the digital age, focusing on data, information, and knowledge. It drew together nearly 300 experts and scholars from around the world in the fields of information science and related disciplines.

The opening ceremony was chaired by Prof. GUO Yingtong, Deputy Dean of the School of Business and Management at JLU.

Keynote speakers at the opening ceremony included Prof. ZHANG Xi, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and President of JLU; Prof. Gillian Oliver, current Chair of iSchools and internationally renowned scholar in archival science; and Prof. MA Feicheng, Senior Professor of Humanities and Social Sciences at Wuhan University.

ZHANG expressed hope that the exchange of ideas and debates would spark new insights and foster collaboration. Gillian Oliver emphasized that iConference offers an inspiring academic environment for learning and research exchange. MA Feicheng voiced confidence that iConference would thoroughly explore cutting-edge topics in information management and science, as well as the future of iSchools.

During the conference, various academic exchange activities, including lectures and forums, were organized around the conference’s theme. Additionally, several outstanding papers and poster awards were presented, with prominent scholars conferring the awards on the winners.
