Professor HAN Xiping, Vice Chairman of the University Council and Dean of the Institute for Northeast China and Northeast Asia Research Studies at Jilin University (JLU), led a delegation to Russia on April 22-26, 2024 for the purpose of academic exchanges.

The delegation visited Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) and Saint Petersburg State University (SPbU), where they attended a series of international academic conferences.

JLU and MSU co-hosted a seminar at MSU’s campus, during which JLU’s College of Northeast Asian Studies and MSU’s Faculty of Political Science signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement, with plans to deepen cooperation in think tank development, joint research, and student exchanges.

At SPbU, the delegation participated in the Second Saint Petersburg Congress on International Studies and the Forum on the United States-Russia Relations and Great Power Politics.

In his address, HAN emphasized the importance of continuing to strengthen practical, high-quality cooperation with SPbU and other Russian universities and research institutions.

During the event, nearly 20 scholars from JLU’s College of Northeast Asian Studies, SPbU’s School of International Relations, the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the MGIMO University delivered academic presentations.

The delegation also held in-depth discussions with officials from SPbU’s School of International Relations to ensure the full implementation of the cooperation agreement. Both sides agreed to further deepen collaboration across various fields.
