
The 2023 Annual International Forum on Higher Education – hosted by the China Association of Higher Education – opened on Dec 10 at Xiamen University.
Themed on "The Digital Era and Sustainable Development in Higher Education," the forum attracted over 800 participants from nearly 30 countries and regions.
The two-day event – a flagship initiative of the China Association of Higher Education – included an opening ceremony, the main forum and round-table discussions, with over 80 international guests in attendance.
JIANG Zhiying, Chairman of the University Council, Jilin University (JLU) and Vice President of the China Association of Higher Education presided over the main forum.
During the main forum, speakers addressed various topics under the theme of "Educational Transformation and Future Development in the Digital Age". They shared insights on leveraging digital opportunities, the role of AI in enhancing higher education and the challenges of talent cultivation in the digital era.
JIANG emphasized the importance of higher education in responding to global challenges and advancing societal progress. He noted that digital technology was revolutionizing education and driving global educational reforms.
Over the two-day forum, the participants discussed key issues such as education reforms in the digital age, the innovative cultivation of talent and the responsibilities of universities in international cooperation – aiming to promote sustainable development in global higher education.
