CAI Lidong, Vice President of Jilin University (JLU), met with Niels Peter Thomas, president for Springer Nature Greater China, and his delegation on Sept 5, 2023.
The two parties held a seminar to discuss collaboration between JLU and Springer Nature, a publisher of the world’s most influential journals and a pioneer in the field of open research. Leaders from the university's Office of Humanities & Social Sciences Research, Office of Global Engagement, School of Archaeology, and School of Foreign Language Education attended.
CAI welcomed the delegation and expressed hope for deepening cooperation in the future and continuing to develop the Springer Nature-JLU archaeology series.
Thomas introduced Springer Nature's main businesses and expressed a desire to disseminate the latest research findings in JLU's archaeology discipline, promoting scientific research cooperation and cultural exchange.
Both parties signed a strategic cooperation agreement for the Springer Nature-JLU archaeology series. The series will be the first university-level open access book cooperation project signed between Springer Nature Group and Chinese universities, which means global readers can read and access the series for free.
Representatives from Springer Nature held a discipline alignment meeting with leaders from relevant departments at JLU, where they discussed common research collaboration focal points and objectives.
