The Forum on Peace and Development in Northeast Asia 2023 hosted by Jilin University (JLU) took place in Changchun on Sept 16, 2023.

The forum aimed to establish a high-level platform for communication and cooperation among experts and scholars from Northeast Asian countries. Through academic exchanges, it sought to expand academic and regional consensus, working together to promote peace and development in the Northeast Asia region.

JIANG Zhiying, Chairman of the University Council, JLU, attended and delivered a speech, while HAN Xiping, Vice Chairman of the University Council, JLU, hosted the forum's opening ceremony. Over 130 experts and scholars on Northeast Asian issues from more than 40 research institutions and universities attended the forum.

JIANG welcomed and thanked all participants for their attendance. He expressed JLU's willingness to strengthen academic exchanges with colleagues and hoped attendees would contribute new ideas and build consensus, fostering mutual learning and joint development among Northeast Asian countries.

The forum featured keynote speeches by scholars on themes such as crisis management and economic cooperation and five thematic seminars aimed at fostering regional consensus through academic exchange.
