HAN Xiping, Vice Chairman of the University Council, Jilin University (JLU), met with Sawamura Akira, executive Vice President for planning at Niigata University (NU), on Sept 16, 2023, who attended the Forum on Peace and Development in Northeast Asia 2023 organized by JLU.

Han expressed gratitude for Sawamura Akira's insightful presentation at the forum, noting that JLU has held 13 sessions of the Forum on Peace and Development in Northeast Asia since 1997. He hoped for continued practical cooperation between JLU and NU in talent cultivation and scientific research.

Sawamura Akira remarked on the fruitful outcomes of this forum and expressed his intention to engage in academic exchanges with scholars from various countries to promote consensus and enhance cross-cultural understanding. He also looked forward to strengthening academic exchanges and cooperation with JLU.

Officials from JLU's College of Northeast Asian Studies and Office of Global Engagement also attended the meeting.
