Patricio Conejero Ortiz, Vice President for International Affairs and director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) in Argentina, visited Jilin University (JLU) from Aug 3 to 5, 2023.

The 2023 Board Meeting of the Confucius Institute at the University of Buenos Aires was held on Aug 4 online and offline at JLU. ZHAO Hongwei, Vice President of JLU, attended the meeting and delivered a speech expressing hope for expanding disciplinary cooperation and deepening educational ties between the two universities.

Ortriz toured JLU's Norman Bethune Third School of Clinical Medicine, where he discussed expanding cooperation in key medical disciplines and personnel exchange programs with faculty representatives.

At the humanities and social sciences-themed meeting between JLU and UBA, representatives from multiple colleges discussed strategies for promoting joint initiatives in priority fields and reached several cooperation agreements.

Founded in 1821, UBA is Argentina's largest public university and the to p higher education institution in Latin America. Its Confucius Institute, jointly established with JLU in 2009, has been recognized three times as a "Global Outstanding Confucius Institute".
