Professor Yukihiro Ozaki, an honorary professor at Kwansei Gakuin University, was invited to deliver a lecture at Jilin University (JLU) on June 10, 2023, as part of the Dingxin Lecture Series.

JLU President ZHANG Xi delivered the opening speech and presented Professor Ozaki with the Chinese Government Friendship Award medal and certificate. SUN Junqi, dean of the JLU Graduate School, chaired the ceremony.

ZHANG highly praised Professor Ozaki's academic achievements. He noted that Professor Ozaki's collaboration with Chinese universities began with JLU and stressed Ozaki's significant role in advancing molecular spectroscopy in China. He hoped younger faculty and students would take Professor Ozaki as a role model.

In his lecture My Wonderful Long Journey of Molecular Spectroscopy with Chinese Scientists, Professor Ozaki shared the results of his collaborations with JLU scholars on ordered films and liquid crystals. He emphasized that academic cooperation between China and Japan is vital for global scientific advancement.

Professor ZHAO Bing from JLU's State Key Laboratory of Supramolecular Structures and Materials spoke about his friendship with Professor Ozaki and the fruitful outcomes of their collaborations.

The event was hosted by the College of Chemistry and the State Key Laboratory of Supramolecular Structures and Materials at JLU. It attracted over 200 experts and scholars from more than 20 universities and research institutions.
