Harvard-Yenching Institute associate director visits JLU

LI Ruohong, associate director of the Harvard-Yenching Institute, visited Jilin University (JLU) on June 19, 2023.

LI hosted an information session on the Harvard-Yenching Institute Visiting Scholars Program for JLU's faculty and students. Representatives from the Department of Human Resource Management and the Office of Global Engagement at JLU attended, along with over 30 faculty members.

LI provided a detailed overview of the origins of the Harvard-Yenching Institute Visiting Scholars Program, the eligibility criteria, funding duration, and research areas supported by the program, and answered questions raised by the attendees.

During the visit, LI also held discussions with faculty members from the College of Humanities, the College of Northeast Asian Studies, and the School of International and Public Affairs.

The Harvard-Yenching Institute, jointly established by Harvard University and Yenching University in 1928, is a leading Sinology research institute based at Harvard University.

It plays a key role in East and West cultural exchanges and is a model of academic collaboration between Chinese and American universities. Four faculty members from the School of Philosophy and Sociology, the College of Humanities, and the School of Public Administration at JLU have received funding from the Harvard-Yenching Institute to conduct research at Harvard University.
