Scholars from Germany and China delivered a series of academic presentations on July 9, 2023, as part of the Dingxin Lecture Series at Jilin University (JLU).

JLU President ZHANG Xi welcomed the guests and presented commemorative plaques to Professor Harald Fuchs, a member of the National Academy of Sciences and Engineering in Germany, and Professor GAO Hongjun and Professor CHI Lifeng, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

ZHANG praised Fuchs for his outstanding academic achievements and thanked him for his significant contributions to promoting educational and scientific cooperation between China and Germany.

Fuchs introduced the research directions and outcomes of the Center for Soft Nanoscience at the University of Münster. He also hoped for deeper academic exchanges and collaboration with Chinese universities and research institutions. GAO and CHI also engaged in discussions on research topics with faculty and students.

Fuchs is a world-renowned nanoscientist and a professor at the University of Münster in Germany. His research focuses on nanoscience and nanotechnology, scanning probe microscopy, and fabricating self-assembled nanostructures and nanosystems in biology. He has always been dedicated to advancing China-German scientific cooperation, co-authoring over 120 papers with Chinese scholars.
