During the World University Presidents Forum on July 30, 2023, JIANG Zhiying, Chairman of the University Council, Jilin University (JLU), met with Indriķis Muižnieks, Rector of the University of Latvia to discuss advancing inter-university collaboration.

JIANG welcomed President Muižnieks to China and provided a brief overview of JLU's history and educational philosophy. He hoped that, through mutual learning, the two universities could broaden and deepen their collaboration in talent development and scientific research.

President Muižnieks expressed his desire to strengthen educational and cultural exchanges between JLU and the University of Latvia, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation between the two universities and fostering friendly relations between China and Latvia.
